Lionel Hampton was a veteran swing vibraphonist while Stan Getz was the leader of the “cool school” of young tenors. But what these two masters had in common (in addition to a healthy respect for each other’s talents) was the ability to swing as hard as possible.
Dave Brubeck‘s defining masterpiece, Time Out is one of the most rhythmically innovative albums in jazz history, the first to consciously explore time signatures outside of the standard 4/4 beat or 3/4 waltz time.
This was among several hit albums that Ella Fitzgeald enjoyed in the ’50s, when she was reaching the mass audience cutting pre-rock standards.
Eartha Kitt was a talented actress and dancer, she is perhaps best remembered for her distinctive voice. Bad But Beautiful is a 1962 album Kitt works her way through 12 classic numbers here in the sultry and swinging manner that she is famous for.
Our coasters are made from a ply board base backed with felt for furniture protection, the image is protected with resin for easy cleaning.
